Ford Galaxy and S-MAX Get UK Awards

Ford’s Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) range has received two awards in the UK, with the Galaxy claiming the BusinessCar overall MPV award for the fourth year running, and the S-MAX being awarded the Mini-MPV award.

The elegant Ford Galaxy has strengthened its segment-leading credentials by claiming BusinessCar's overall MPV award for the fourth consecutive year, while the segment-leading Ford S-MAX has added to its list of accolades, claiming another MPV award for its trophy cabinet,” stated the press release.

The revised Galaxy uses 2.0 liter Duratorq TDCi engine developing 115, 140 and 163 hp, with emissions starting at 152 grams of CO2/km. The vehicle features new technologies, including Ford’s Blind Spot Information System and Adjustable Speed Limiter.

The S-Max has also been upgraded with new powertains, including Ford’s new Ecoboost turbocharged petrol engine and the Powershift six speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Ford Galaxy has manged to reach the 1st place in the MPV sales top on the British market, as the vehicle has registered a sales figure of 147,000 units since it was introduced in 1996. In addition to that, the S-MAX has managed to sell over 41,000 vehicles in the UK since its 2006 debut.
