While Ford's credibility may have been slightly dented with their conflict with the EPA regarding the claimed efficiency figures for the C-Max Hybrid and Fusion Hybrid which were at least 10% under the manufacturer claimed numbers.
Now, though, after announcing that the EPA may have to change the way it tests hybrids, Ford has announced the official range rating for the plug-in hybrid version of the Fusion, called the Energi. Ford claims that the large plug-in sedan is capable of driving for up to 620 miles on a single tank of gasoline, and a fully charged battery.

Speaking of battery, the car can reportedly travel for up to 21 miles on electricity alone, making it a highly-useful tool to run to the shops, close to your home, and not waste a single drop of petrol. The specified range is more than enough for such applications.

Still, as Ford themselves say, all the efficiency and range numbers can vary greatly, according to "driving styles, driving conditions and other factors can cause mileage to vary."
