Ford has just announced the official pricing information for the new Fiesta ST hot hatch. The car is set to rival the Renault Clio RS, as well as the upcoming Peugeot 208 GTi, despite the fact that it will be down some 20 hp on both of them.
The Fiest ST will cost from £16,995, in the UK, and for the money you get a well-equipped ST1 model, with 17-inch alloys, tinted windows, sports Recaro seats, digital DAB radio as well as Bluetooth connectivity.

Pay £1,000 more, and you get the better-equipped range topper, the ST2, which adds part-leather upholstery, LED daytime running lights, climate control, uprated Sony sound system and keyless start and go.

Powered by a 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine, the Fiesta ST will sprint from 0-100 km/h or 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds, before topping out at 218 km/h, or 136 mph. It is also expected to return over 40 UK mpg, if driven with care, and emit just 138 g/km of CO2.

The car is now available for order, with deliveries beginning later this year, in April.
