The brand new Ford Edge Concept made its European debut today during the Blue Oval’s “Go Further” event in Barcelona, Spain, which also marked the introduction of the Ka Concept and the highly anticipated 2015 Ford Mustang.
Showcased for the very first time at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show last month, the concept previews the production Edge that will be arriving for the 2015 model year. Part of Ford’s strategy to launch 25 new vehicles in Europe in the next five year, the Edge SUV will be joining the new Kuga and the small EcoSport.
The 2015 Edge will feature an array of advanced automated driving technologies, including self-parking and obstacle avoiding systems, Ford’s new range of EcoBoost engines and the fuel efficiency-improving active grille shutters.
“The all-new Ford Edge Concept gives consumers in Europe a tantalising glimpse of the upscale Ford SUV experience that’s waiting just around the corner,” said Stephen Odell, Ford executive vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We are seeing strong demand for high quality products that confer status, and give a greater sense of freedom and confidence on the road.”
