The Romanian-built Ford B-Max has received its official pricing details for the United Kingdom, where it will go on sale this September. This small MPV, with rear sliding doors and a top notch interior will definitely be a strong seller with UK families.
It is available with a varied choice of engines, ranging from the 1.0-liter EcoBoost to 1.6-liter diesel and petrol units, all of which feature five-speed manual gearboxes, with the 1.6-liter petrol unit getting an automatic Powershift transmission.
All engines in the range are very frugal, with the highlights being the 1.0-liter EcoBoost, which returns 57.7 mpg (with Start/Stop) and the familiar 1.6-liter TDCI engine which achieves an excellent combined figure of 70.6 mpg.
With the B-Max, Ford is offering a simplified trim level system, with only three available: Studio (based trim), Zetec and Titanium. Pricing starts £12,995, but you have to pay over £15,500 for a decently-equipped Zetec model.
