Ford Announces NASCAR Nationwide Series Milestone
Trevor Bayne won the DuPont Pioneer 250 race at Iowa Speedway for Roush Fenway Racing by lapping the oval track 250 times in 2 hours, 8 minutes and 5 seconds with an average speed of 102.472 miles per hour.
“It is such an opportunity and such a blessing to be a part of this team and to have Ford on board for the 200th win for them this weekend, man it is great. This car was so good on the long run. I can’t thank these guys enough for persevering through this whole race. It is so great to get the 200th win for Ford. I was able to get the 600th in Cup and 200th in Nationwide. We are just showing up for the big one’s I guess,” said Trevor Bayne.
Ford Racing has won four NASCAR Nationwide Series championships until now, all of them under the Roush Fenway banner, with Greg Biffle (2002), Carl Edwards (2007) and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (2011, 2012) behind the steering wheel.
In addition, Ford revealed that Bayne’s success in Iowa is the Blue Oval’s 999th all-time victory in the NASCAR’s top three series combined.
