Ford Announces ECOnetic Goodies for Geneva
"Ford is also sourcing renewable electricity to cover the full electric power demand of its Fiesta manufacturing and engineering facilities in Cologne, Germany. Through this initiative, the company will reduce its CO2 emissions by 190,000 tonnes per year," Ford said in a statement for the press.
The top-of-the-range model is Ford Fiesta ECOnetic equipped with a 1.6-liter Duratorq TDCi diesel unit that produces a maximum power of 90 hp. CO2 emissions are rated at 98 grams per kilometers, while fuel economy goes as much as 76.3 mpg (about 64 mpg in the United States).
In addition, the automaker will display the Focus ECOnetic version, an upgraded model that now achieves a fuel consumption rating of 4.3 liters per 100 km (65.6 mpg) while producing emissions of around 115 g/km. The third model to be showcased at the show is the Mondeo ECOnetic, which consumes around 5.2 liters per 100 km (53.3 mpg) and produces 139 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
