Ford is spreading the SYNC AppLink capability across its 2012 range of F-Series Trucks, which means that that the voice control of Pandora Internet radio will be available. The 2012 model year Ford F-Series trucks are scheduled to arrive in dealerships across the US this month.
SYNC AppLink allows Pandora users to play the stations of choice, with connectivity being offered through Bluetooth or USB (SYNC is compatible with Android, BlackBerry and iPhone smartphones).
The list of 2012 Ford models that feature the SYNC AppLink include the Fiesta, Mustang, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Expedition, E-Series and Shelby GT500, with the feature also being standard on the 2012 Lincoln MKZ, MKZ Hybrid and Navigator.
"Ford has done a great job in developing, deploying and educating listeners about the connected SYNC AppLink system. The vehicle is the traditional home of radio, and it is thanks to forward-thinking partners like Ford that Pandora listeners are now able to seamlessly enjoy their personalized stations in the vehicle," said Pandora Executive Vice President of Business and Corporate Development Jessica Steel.
