Five-Pot Heaven - Audi Quattro Rally Car Loud Acceleration [Video]
However, what most rally enthusiasts will remember the Quattro for is its amazing engine and exhaust note. Take the modern Focus RS, with its 2.5-liter five-cylinder Volvo engine, give it a straight exhaust and a cold air intake, and you`ve got a pretty good idea what the Audi five-pot sounds like.
While the engine in the Focus RS revs to under 7,000 rpm, the racing engine which powered the Audi Quattro revved to around 8,000 rpm, thus further increasing the pitch and level of noise, making them reach crazy levels.
The car was also good at drifting around corners, and was able to hang its tail out in a very controllable manner - sometimes the tail goes out too much, as was the case here.
