First Twin-Turbo Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Is an 800 HP Demon

We all knew a tuner out there would dare shatter the 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350's naturally aspirated aura in twin-turbo fashion and here we are, talking about the result of such a tech job.

Ladies and gentlemen drivers, you are looking at the world's first TT 2016 Shelby GT350, a boosted pony that comes from Hellion Power Systems. We should probably make things clear here - the muscle machine you see in these images is a Shelby GT350R, which only makes things even spicier.

Let's talk figures, shall we?

The developer, which is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is currently playing the teasing game, so we only have a few photos of the 'Stang to show you. Nevertheless, thanks to the Mustang6G forum, we now know the twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter Voodoo V8 delivers 723 hp and 650 lb-ft of twist - keep in mind that we're talking about the output at the wheels, so we're looking at well north of 800 horses here.

The flat-plane crank engine was gifted with hardware supplied by Precision Turbo. And while turbocharged motors are not exactly famous for their soundtracks, we have to admit we're eager to check out the newfound voice of the GT350R.

The numbers mentioned above have been achieved with a boost pressure of 9 psi, while the usual supporting mods that accompany such a forced induction process include upgraded injectors and a lowered compression ratio.

For the sake of comparison, we'll mention the 5.0-liter Coyote motor, which obviously sat at the base of the Voodoo development, can deliver about 650 hp at the wheels when gifted with 9 psi of boost.

Since we're talking about such a special build, we should get our hands on more info on this suck-squeeze-bang-blow topic soon. And now that the gates of sacriledge have been opened, we expect to see more TT projects using the Shelby GT350 as a starting point.
