Last year was a big one for the drifting world. Not only did we get the first-ever Lamborghini drift car but we also witnessed the birth of the first Rolls-Royce drift machine.
Yep, we're a little late to this story, but we think it's more than worth the time.

We're talking about a Silver Shadow that's not only set to become famous thanks to its lavish sideways approach but is also manhandled by a VIP driver, namely Boyzone's Shane Lynch - given the checkered flag tattoo on the man's neck, we should have known.

Just like the Lamborghini Murcielago pro drifter Daigo Saito runs, this RR keeps the factory 6.75-liter V8. Yep, the one that has evolved in the current heart of the Bentley Mulsanne.

The same goes for the three-speed automatic gearbox. However, you should expect the powertrain to have received the adjustments required by the slip angle occupation of the sedan.

You won't mistake this for the standard vehicle

Even when it's not roasting its rear tires, this Silver Shadow won't pass as your regular chauffeur vehicle. The shaved bumpers and bespoke wheel arches make sure of that.

As for the cabin, all we want to say is that the sheer idea of having the Spirit of Ecstasy strapped to a hydraulic handbrake lever is enough to win us over.

As for those of you wondering how competitive the result is, the similarities to the Murcielago mentioned above once again arise. So while the setup does have its limitations, this does keep things from going just as sideways as you'd wish them to. You don't even have to take our word for it - you can check out the contraption at work in the clip below, which will take you back to the 5th round of last year's Irish Drift Championship.

P.S.: It's not really a coincidence that both the Raging Bull and the RR mentioned in this story are connected to Monster Energy.
