First Rolls-Royce Dawn Gets Forgiato Wheels

There are plenty of cars for people with more money than common sense. However, we still think there's room for the Rolls-Royce Dawn.

It's smaller than the old Drophead convertible model, but the fact that it's based on the beautiful Wraith should make it more popular. Hollywood celebrities like Scott Disick and many professional athletes are going to buy the Dawn and a few will do something like this to it.

Changing the wheels is by far the most popular thing to do with a new car. In this case, the V12 convertible has been equipped with a set of 4-inch Forgiato Quattresimo-ECL wheels with a brushed face and chrome lip.

The retrofit was carried out at Exotic Euro Cars of Woodland Hills, California. The contrast between the black paint and the shiny wheels ensures this Dawn draws a lot of attention. However, we don't find these alloys to be a good fit for the car.

But perhaps we are looking at this from the old-timer's perspective. The average age of a Rolls-Royce buyer has gone down to around 45, thanks to new money coming in from China. In a way, Pharrell Williams is the average buyer too.

And if he featured his old Phantom in that music video with Snoop, somebody is bound to buy the Dawn and write a song about it.

Dawn is only the third mass-market Rolls-Royce convertible in 50 years. It uses a de-tuned version of the Wraith's 6.6-liter engine, producing 563 horsepower. How's that for a twin-turbo power reserve? It's no slouch either. The 0 to 62 mph time is 4.9 seconds. Speed is not as important as comfort and beauty.

This 2.5-ton convertible gives you access to four epic seats through the trademark coach or "suicide" doors that are borrowed from the Wraith. Check out how it sits on the first set of Forgiato wheels in the gallery below.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
