First 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 On Air Suspension Comes from AccuAir

When it comes to suspension, we have strict rules here in our office. For instance, track-savvy machines that also get plenty of street time, such as the 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350, should come with adaptive suspension.

Fortunately, Ford has ticked this box with the MagneRide dampers, but there also other types of aficionados, who come with their own strict road connection requirements.

For now, we'll stick to gearheads whose dreams, be they the nighttime or the day-dreaming kind, revolve around notions such as "stance" or "fitment". We're here to make these people happy, as the video below brings what is probably the first 2016 Shelby GT350 on air suspension.

For one thing, this is the first new-age GT350 to get AccuAir's e-Level suspension. With most of the hardware mounted in the trunk of the Ford, this suspension allows the driver to choose between three height levels, using a remote control found inside the cabin.

While the lowest level is obviously for the stance drama moments seen at Cars and Coffee or when you become bored waiting for the traffic jam to disappear, the intermediate level also appears streetable, albeit just barely - the front splitter, the one certain dealers seem to be unable to install properly, is the one you'll have to focus on when analyzing this.

As for the other part of this athletic pony's road connection, the factory wheels have been swapped with a set of Rotiform rollers. We're talking about KPS wheels, which come in 20x10-inch size up front and in a 20x11-inch size at the rear. As for the rubber being used here, those Rotiforms are shod in Toyo tires (305/25/R20 for the front axle and 315/25/R20 for the rear one.

You can check out the special 'Stang in the piece of footage below, which will give you a pretty good taste of the development.
