With all the talk about the first modded 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS units, the Mustang needed something that would bring it back in the spotlight. Well, here we are, giving you the first custom exhaust for the 2016 Shelby GT350.
The development comes from Magnaflow, with the aftermarket developer offering a cat-back system. We're talking about 3-inch stainless steel tubing, dual 5x8x11-inch rear mufflers, as well as quad stainless steel 4-inch tips.

Owners can choose between two finishes for the tips, with Magnaflow offering polished and carbon fiber versions. Regardless of the choice, the system is offered for $1,715.

You can get the first taste of this exhaust's aural assets in the video below, but the clip only includes revving moments, which means we still have to wait for the acceleration soundtrack to show up.

"We're super excited to announce that we have just finished development on our system for the new GT350 Mustang with its epic flat-plane Voodoo engine. The GT350 sounds incredibly mean right from the factory, be we knew we could improve on Ford's fine work," the tuner says.

In Magnaflow trim, the GT350 sounds less raspy, and a bit higher pitched compared to the stock model. While most people will find this a sweet feature, some might see it as a bug. For one thing, the rather harsh tone of the stock system sets the Voodoo-engined 'Stang apart.

Fortunately, the custom exhaust maintains the dual-mode feature of the factory system.

According to a Mustang6G forum member, who owns the pony you see in the clip, the exhaust also adds 15 hp. Those who want to go deeper down the technical rabbit hole can check out the dyno graph in the video below.

"The sound is definitely smoother. The difference between normal and sport is less profound, but definitely sexy," the man explains.

Pony-loving folks should keep in mind this is just the beginning of a long and winding road that will see the Shelby GT350 being gifted with a ton of custom goodies.
