Fiat Builds Five Million 1.3 MultiJet Engines
Fiat Powertrain Technologies Poland plant in Bielsko-Biala has just produced the MultiJet number 5,000,000, a significant milestone for the company. The unit is a 85 hp mode and will go into one of the new Fiat 500Ls.
The MultiJet engine is a four-cylinder unit displacing 1,248 cc. Two versions have been engineered, one with a fixed geometry turbo producing up to 75 hp and a variable geometry turbo producing up to 95 hp.
The 1.3 MultiJet is fitted on many cars in the Fiat Group Automobiles range: Fiat Panda, Fiat Punto, Chrysler Ypsilon, Alfa Romeo MiTo, Fiat Qubo, Fiat Doblò, Fiat Strada, Fiat Fiorino, Fiat 500 and 500L. It's also sold to other car companies, proof of the engine's success.
