Fiat announced official pricing for the 500e model that will be sold in the state of California starting this summer.
It is priced at $32,000 and the this can drop as low as $20,000 with federal credits applied. The customers can alternatively lease the car for $199 per month for 3 years after they pay $999 in cash first.

The 500e has a full electric drivetrain that uses a 111 hp (83 kW) electric motor which has a maximum 147 lb-ft (200 Nm) maximum torque and a 24 kWh Lithium-Ion High-Voltage Battery.

Instead of a traditional transmission, this new single-speed gearbox transmission directs the output from the electric drive motor and provides calibrated gear reduction. Lower electric motor input speeds, decreased battery usage and more efficient use of vehicle energy with increased torque output capacity are but some of the benefits this transmission provides.
