Fiat 500 EasyPower LPG Released
The new powerplant is Euro 5-compliant and should last for at least 160,000 km (99,500 miles), says Fiat. It will be offered as part of two different trim levels, Pop and Lounge, priced at EUR 13,250 and EUR 15,050, respectively.
On the sidelines of this launch, Fiat also announced the production of the 4 millionth 1.3 16V MultiJet engine that was rolled off the assembly lines of the Bielsko Biala facility in Poland. The engine is fitted on many of Fiat Group's models, including on the tiny 500 which was also the "lucky" model to get the 4 millionth unit.
On the Fiat 500, the engine develops a maximum power of 75 hp at 4,000 rpm as well as 145 Nm of torque starting from 1500 rpm. It releases 111 grams of CO2 per km, while achieving combined fuel efficiency figures of 56 mpg (4.2 l/100km).
“This is a prestigious achievement, which testifies to the great success that this small diesel engine has achieved since 2003, the year in which production began, featuring the first ever application of MultiJet technology on a world-wide scale,” Fiat said in a statement for the press.
