Ferrari President Hits at Red Bull

Ferrari's president Luca di Montezemolo hit back at Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko's comments last week, according to which the Scuderia is trying to buy the Austrian team's “spirit” by offering jobs to its employees.

Shortly after Red Bull Racing have become world champions, plenty of high-end employees at Milton Keynes have been offered jobs by rival teams. Needless to say, Ferrari was one of those teams and, a couple of months later, the Italians have actually managed to “steal” Red Bull's strategy chief Neil Martin.

Following Marko's public outburst, di Montezemolo told the media during Ferrari's media event at Madonna di Campiglio ski resort that the Austrian team doesn't know how to act like world champions.

I see people who won world championships who don't quite know how to behave as champions,” di Montezemolo told reporters. “It's part of the game, but maybe when they have won 10 percent of what we have won, then we'll respond,” he added, while suggesting that Red Bull is yet “in the habit of winning.”

Ferrari's team reshuffle included only minor additions for the 2011 campaign of F1. Apart from Martin, the only other new figure at Maranello will be Pat Fry, former Chief Engineer of Race Development for McLaren Mercedes. Fry had officially joined the Scuderia in mid-2010, but it was only a few weeks back that he was handed a clear role at Ferrari for the upcoming campaign, namely deputy technical director.
