2013 is not only the year of hybrid, but also the year of speed. Everything from the cheapest to the most expensive type of car seems to want to go fast. This next clip shows a drag race which looks totally unbalanced on paper: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta against an McLaren Mp4-12C, something designed to take on the lesser 458 Italia.
The Ferrari has a 740 PS 6.3-liter V12 engine, while the McLaren has over 100 fewer ponies. It should have no chance whatsoever, but the wet conditions and the way its traction control system is set up are giving it a slight boost.
It's impossible to know who won overall, the second heat looking especially close. But the British supercar is holding its own against a much more expensive Italian exotic. Think this explains rather well why Ferrari is also switching to turbocharged engines.
