It really doesn’t take much to make an awesome video of cars lapping the Nürburgring. Do film the right car making sure to position yourself in a location for optimal screams coming from the engine, exhaust and tires. Don’t add any tacky music. Case in point, this amazing video of a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta being pushed to its limits at the ‘Ring.
While the details of this run are scarce, GTSpirit.com says that the Ferrari ran at least three laps, and during its all-out run, it laid down a lap time of around 7 minutes 48 seconds. Where this lap time gets really interesting is the fact that it might include a cool down period of about 40 seconds indicating that the F12 Berlinetta could get down into the lower 7 minute range.

This would put it square in the time frame of the 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO as well as cars like the Lexus LFA and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Powered by a 6.3-liter V-12 that sends 731 hp (kW) and 508 lb-ft (Nm) of torque to the rear wheels, the F12 Berlinetta could also be looking to set a lap record for front-engine, rear-drive production cars.

Another possibility is that Ferrari is testing a new technology on this car, which is suggested by the added wiring on the roof and along the front windows. The rest of the car seems to be your “standard” version of the gorgeous Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, so it doesn’t appear that any other changes have been made for this ‘Ring run.

Regardless of what the reasons were behind Ferrari running these laps, the resulting video is more than a minute of watching and listening to this F12 Berlinetta get rung out around the Green Hell.
