Ferrari is currently working on an Enzo replacement and the automotive producer has a huge weight on its shoulders, especially if we consider the cult status of the car and the competition that has become stiffer than ever.
The company’s CEO, Amedeo Felisa, has confirmed that the car will use a mid-mounted V12 and a carbon fiber chassis. This follows the legacy of the Enzo, which also used a carbon fiber chassis (so did the F50).
However, for its “mainstream” models the Prancing Horse will not go down the carbon fiber road, choosing to stick with its aluminum chassis philosophy instead, as it considers that the weight benefits do not match the costs for such a move.
According to Inside Line, Ferrari is currently testing hybrid prototypes, which means that the Enzo replacement could be a potential target for such developments.
