Ferrari 458 Speciale Spotted in Barcelona [Video]
Introduced a week ago, the Ferrari 458 Speciale boasts 605 HP (445 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque thanks to a tweaked 4.5-liter unit, which makes it the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8-engined vehicle ever developed with 135 HP per liter.
Weighing just 1,290 kg (2,843 lbs) and fitted with specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the 458 Speciale can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in only three seconds and 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.1 seconds.
Other upgrades fitted to the new supercar, which was designed in cooperation with Pininfarina, include a number of aerodynamic features and a new Side Slip Angle Control system which “makes it easier to achieve car control on the limit, thereby greatly improving driving emotions.”
The Ferrari 458 Speciale will make its public debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
