Fernando Torres Treats Himself with an Aston Martin DBS
The Liverpool striker reportedly paid no less than GBP 160,000 for the DBS, a sports car with a 6l V12 engine that can propel it to a top speed of 191 mph.
The young player was called up for Spain’s UEFA Euro 2008 squad two years ago, when he was named the man of the match in the Final against Germany - which ended with a 1-0 victory for Torres’ team.
So the new car he is driving could be seen either as a way to celebrate, or as a consolation prize for not being able to be the decisive player to bring Spain its World Championship title.
The DBS is based on the DBR9 model - VH platform - but features a lower and wider bodywork. It shares its wheelbase and roofline with the DB9 car and features a redesigned front bumper - with wider air scoops - and an integrated rear lip spoiler. Aston Martin will only produce around 300 units of this high-performance sports car annually.
