Ever wondered if the engine of your car is hot enough to use it as an oven? Ever wished you could see those RPM working for a different purpose than that of moving the wheels? Neither did we, considering cars are for delivering food at best, never for cooking purposes. Lexus Germany didn’t just think about it; they even made it happen.
So here’s what happened. They used the Lexus IS F CCS-R’s 5.0-liter engine as an oven and invited Mario Kotaska, a TV celebrity and a famed chef from Germany, to prepare one of his finest meals. They called it Filet Nordschleife since that’s where the oven, namely the car, cooked the beef.

In case you don’t know, we’ll mention that Nordschleife (which stands for North Loop) is one of the originally four configurations of the famous Nurburgring track, in Nurburg. The motorsport complex features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old “North loop” track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nurburg in the Eifel mountains.

As we said, The Green Hell initially featured four configurations: the 28.265 km (17.563 mi)-long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Course"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 km (14.173 mi) Nordschleife ("North Loop"), and the 7.747 km (4.814 mi) Südschleife ("South Loop”). In the early 1980s, the start/finish area was demolished to create a new GP-Strecke, and this is used for all the main events.

The one they used to shoot this video is still in use for racing, testing, and public access. Since this meal is most likely a world first, the chef figured it would be best to name it accordingly.
