Remember that classic Porsche ad from the good old days of the 911, which was mocking Nissan and Mitsubishi? Well, while Mitsu is busy turning green these days, a British photographer has somehow decided to strike back. Be prepared to see a set of fake Nissan ads with balls. Literally.
The Nissan GT-R was the obvious weapon here, with the artist, called Tim Kent, turning it into an actual slicing and cutting instrument. Despite the more recent Nurburgring lap time battle between Nissan and Porsche, the first’s fans have treated the German automaker with a bit of respect, at least compared to the way in which they’ve approached the Italians.
Ignoring Zuffenhausen’s famous flat engine layout, the Porsche-aimed ad places a random number of “Frankfurtters” in a bag, with the “GT-R” knife on the side.
When it came to Ferrari, it all turned to meat cleaver, This appears to be a natural choice, since the label on the package next to it says “Horse Meat”. It’s worth mentioning that the Prancing Horse, or rather its sliced-up version, has the highest price of them all.
This story really went mental when it came to Lamborghini, returning to the knife theme, this time with a bloody flavor. Don’t ask “what’s in the bag” though, as the answer is a rather graphic set of “Bulls Balls”.
We won’t hide it - this initiative is rather entertaining. Moreover, Porsche’s original ad, may not stand today, as there certainly are members of the Playstation generation who do grow up dreaming to own a Nissan. After all, Godzilla does pack track-blowing performance, having kept its appeal despite the repeated price increases.
But let’s not allow ourselves to be fooled here. The GT-R will never be able to offer the everyday thrill of a Porsche. A Lamborghini will laugh in its face when it comes to the dramatic stuff, while Ferrari’s screaming personality can easily cast a shadow over the Japanese effort.
