Failed Overtake Maneuver Causes Barrel Roll [Video]

Simple overtaking maneuver goes bad in Russia, after the driver of the car with the dash cam tries to overtake a truck which suddenly makes a left turn without indicating. The driver then panics and pulls hard to the right, a maneuver which destabilizes the car and eventually makes it roll, seconds later.

We are not sure what car it was, but its suspension is clearly on the soft side, accentuating the lateral motion. Another car, with stiffer springs, would have definitely maintained itself on trajectory, and, this time at least, we think that harder suspension would have made the difference.

Another aspect which lead to the crash was the fact that the driver was speeding, and we don’t understand why he was accelerating so hard to pass the truck, since the road was practically deserted. Thankfully, nobody got hurt, but the car was damaged beyond repair.
