BMW drift cars are very cool. However, most of them are just old E36 and E46 coupes. Not this one. Nicknamed the F22 Eurofighter, the latest creation from HGK is a BMW 2 Series with the mother of all LS V8 engines.
We don't know precisely what motor they used, but the 820 horsepower output is incredible. That makes the 2 Series almost as powerful as the 918 Spyder, the most potent Porsche ever made.

The F22 puts on quite a show in the looks department too, with very creative uses of paint and body parts. This is one of the few cars in the world that actually deserves the Rocket Bunny widebody kit because... it's a drift car, and it needs wider fenders to cover the wheels. With over twice the displacement of the M2, this LS engine needs a gigantic bonnet bulge to clear its supercharger. All sorts of braces also make an appearance around it, adding rigidity to the F22's body.

But HGK employees haven't carelessly slapped on a few body panels. No, the paint and kit work together to create a military look. It might be named after a couple of jet fighters, but the front end is as ugly as the Apache helicopter. And we mean that in a good way, like a dangerous-looking pitbull.

The tuning of the engine was left in charge of Mast Motorsport, who matched the V8 engine to a Samsonas five-speed sequential transmission and high-performance Winters differential.

The lovely paint could get some love taps very soon, as we find the F22 was put together according to Formula Drift specifications, featuring a carbon-kevlar body, a roll cage, drifting wheels with titanium nuts, adjustable suspension, Wilwood brakes, and a mid-mounted fuel tank. After completion, the 2er was shipped to MK Racing in Qatar where it will no doubt put on quite a show.
