Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen and its brand ambassadors and F1 drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton have recently unveiled two special edition watches they’ve developed together. Each limited to 250 pieces, the two Silver Arrow drivers have unveiled their own personal Ingenieur Chronograph, days before the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Lewis Hamilton-designed timepiece has a distinctly technical appeal, while the one designed by Nico Rosberg is both lighter and sportier in appearance. According to IWC, the main aims of the collaboration between the Swiss watch maker and the two Mercedes AMG drivers were to equip both teammates with a personalized and characteristic watch.

Lewis and Nico surprised us with their concrete ideas as to how their ideal watches would look. You felt clearly that they both have an individual affinity to watches,” Christian Knoop, Creative Director of IWC Schaffahusen explained. Both models have the case worked in titanium, with a satin finish.

According to its creators, the rugged timepieces have been equipped with one of the most efficient movements manufactured entirely by IWC. The double-pawl winding system is one of most efficient drives used in haute horology movements from the Swiss company. The upper totalizer displays clocked hours and minutes as clearly as the time of day. Stopped times up to one minute are measured by the centrals seconds hand.

The limited watches were also designed with a practical feature for anyone who frequents the world’s racing circuits, which is the flyback function for measuring pit-stop times. Both of the special editions have a special feature on the reverse side: inset into the titanium case back is a medallion of carbon fiber. Moreover, the back of the watch is sealed with a water-resistant sapphire glass that bears the personal logo of Nico Rosber or Lewis Hamilton on the inner surface.

It’s not quite clear how much one would cost, but you can check their website for more details.
