Extended Lineup for Audi's A4 Range

Audi announced they will extend their 2009 A4 lineup by adding two new models. One of them will feature front wheel drive and the other will be fitted with a six-speed manual transmission.

The 2009 Audi A4 2.0T FrontTrack will combine the advantages of the Audi 2.0 TFSI engine, which also earned a spot on the 2009 Ward's Best Engines list. The 2009 A4 sedan, fitted with the manual six-speed transmission, will offer a sporty driving experience for those who prefer to actually drive the car. The manual transmission will also come with Audi's 2.0 TFSI engine and with their latest generation of quattro all-wheel drive that features a rear torque bias for sporty handling.

The combination of front wheel drive and A4 powertrain gives the new 2009 model the best fuel efficiency in its class, an EPA rating of 23 mpg in city driving conditions and 30 mpg in highway driving. These numbers represent a 4 percent increase in fuel efficiency over the previous generation A4.

The price for the 2009 front-wheel drive Audi A4 2.0T FrontTrack sedan with multitronic CVT transmission will start at $31,000. The MRSP of the 2009 Audi 2.0T quattro manual will be $31,850. Both models will come with a very big list of standard equipment like: sunroof, leather seating, SIRIUS satellite radio, and quattro all-wheel drive.

The redesigned multitronic transmission offers greater sportiness and agility alongside reduced fuel consumption. The first models of the Audi A4 2.0T FrontTrack multitronic model will be arriving in dealerships across America this month. The Audi A4 2.0T quattro will also arrive in dealerships by early 2009.
