The 2015 Ford Mustang will be launched with a new Selectable Driving Mode feature that will allow the driver to choose between four different driving modes, we learned at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
Speaking to Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak, we found out that the sixth-generation pony will gain two additional driving modes compared to the 2014 model: Snow/Wet and Track.

“We have a new selectable driving mode feature in 2015 and so we're going to allow you to choose between Snow/Wet, Normal, Sport and Track,” Pericak said while taking about the reasons the 2015 Mustang was benchmarked against the Porsche 911. “The 911 does a great job when you change its driving modes, all of the systems change pretty dramatically,” he added.

Asked about new Electronic Stability Controls in-between setup, Pericak said that the Sport mode will allow for “two to seven degrees of yaw”, while in the Track mode the ESC will kick after “between five and nine degrees of yaw.”

The Ford representative also revealed the top speed for the entire 2015 Mustang lineup and confirmed that the V6 model won’t reach European and Asian dealerships when the pony goes on sale. Make sure you read the full interview for more interesting details on the redesigned sixth-generation Mustang.
