Cadillac’s pair of performance sedans, the ATS-V and CTS-V, gets a new incentive available with the purchase of a 2017 model.
Customers will receive a free course with the Cadillac V-Performance Academy included with their new car. Typically, a performance driving training course costs a few thousand dollars, especially when it is a two-day event on a race track.

Other expenses are also involved, like lodging, food, and transport. Participants will also get an SD card that bears the recording of their drive from the Cadillac Performance Data Recorder.

Well, as Jalopnik notes, Cadillac will include those elements into the package, except for the flight. In other words, as long as you buy a 2017 Cadillac ATS-V or CTS-V and you pay for your trip to Las Vegas, you are covered. Those that are eligible will receive free airport transfer, a stay in a resort, lodging in a room near the track, and even a rental car for you transportation needs.

The course takes place on Spring Mountain, which has a selection of off-camber turns, quick S’, and sweeping corners. Most of the time on the track will be spent in lead-follow exercises, a traditional training method when multiple students are involved. It implies that a student will follow the instructor, each in a different car, and the goal is to mimic the line and actions of the teacher.

Before going around the full track, drivers will go through exercises that involve wet figure eights, emergency lane changes, slalom, and turning while braking.

In other words, nobody will go on the track before the instructors are sure that he or she understand how to operate the vehicle in a dynamic driving scenario. At the end of the day, clients will get a chance to learn to drive their cars faster and safer, and it is all included with their purchase.

Jalopnik has also learned that the course will have students drive both the ATS-V Coupe and Sedan models, as well as the CTS-V Sedan, while standard Cadillac ATS cars will be available for individual exercises. Some of the ATS-V cars will have manual transmissions. It is important to note that there will be no exercises concerning drifting on dry asphalt, so don’t expect to become DK on Cadillac’s tire budget.
