Europe Says Bye-Bye to the Stunning Citroen C6

French cars have a certain appeal which you either get, or you don’t. This aspect has not been very evident in recent years, as the major French automakers have gotten all Germanic over the last few years, yet they did make one large and very special car - the Citroen C6.
The big Citroen came onto the market in 2005, when it made a really big impression on European buyers looking for a large exec. However, while many may have appreciated its design, technology and comfort, few actually made the leap to actually buy one - in 2005, for instance, they only sold 400 units.

Now, some seven years since it was launched, we say it still looks better than the current crop of German execs, and it is still the more comfortable choice. Its interior may not be up to the same levels of quality, and yes the center console may have been borrowed from the much cheaper C4, but the car’s plus points more than made up.

The C6 is the last ‘real’ French car, and we are very sad to see it go. However, since not that many were built, and only a few more coming out until December 19th, it will still be the rare head-turner that it is, and you will only get to see one from time to time, but when you do see one, it will have your full attention.

We hope that Citroen’s future replacement for the C6 will not be just another face in the crowd, and since the C6 was more of a halo car than an actual money-maker, they should adopt the same tactic with its replacement, making it the object of desire for all C3, C4 and C5 owners throughout Europe.
