More drama and suspense come from Erik Buell Racing's (EBR) camp, as the US patents office has published a patent filed by the owner of the company and 6 more inventors... and the claims refer to two hybrid two-wheelers, a motorcycle and a scooter.
The US 20130168171 A1 patent describes a scooter with an internal combustion engine in excess of 300cc aided by an electric motor which can deliver more than 200 HP. To make things even more interesting, the patent also mentions the fuel tank integrated into the frame, with a capacity up to 15 liters.

Things go wild as the EBR patent mentions of an electric motor capable of delivering up to 400 HP in the case of the bike and paired to an ICE power unit with displacements up to 1,000cc.

The EBR LLC filed for the patent on December 30, 2012, when the other inventors were probably preparing for the New Year's Eve celebrations. Is Erik Buell taking a daring step into the world of hybrid sport machines, much like top-drawer supercar manufacturers have done? We guess it won't be too long until this matter is sorted out, especially with all the new bike teasing. Via Motor Biker.
