Equus Bass 770 Is a Mustang/Corvette Hybrid [Video][Photo Gallery]
We think a lot of people are actually into both vehicles, and the vehicle they’re about to see below should pump some serious adrenaline into their horsepower-soaked brains. We’re talking about the Equus Bass 770, a musclecar hybrid like you’ve never seen before. No, it doesn’t have a hybrid powertrain, that would be plain ridiculous, we call it a hybrid because it’s the love child of a Ford Mustang and a Chevrolet Corvette.
Built by Equus Automotive, the Bass 770 looks like a classic Ford Mustang Fastback, but reminds us of the famous Eleanor and the current-generation Dodge Challenger. Power is provided by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 sourced from a Corvette ZR1 that delivers 640 bhp and 605 lb-ft of torque.
This enables the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h). Other features, such as Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, magnetic suspension with adjustable shock absorbers, leather interior, GPS, cruise control, airbags and tire pressure monitoring have also been added.
As you can imagine, all that power and equipment doesn’t come cheap, and Equus Automotive says the Bass 770, which is labeled as a luxury American musclecar, can be ordered from $250,000.
