Electric Citroen Berlingo Goes From Berlin to Paris on One Charge!

If you thought that the largest battery pack found on the Tesla Model S (85 kWh) was big, then you’ll be very surprised to know that you can safely have nearly twice that capacity, in a car that wasn’t even designed to be electric in the first place.
Two drivers made the 1094 km (683 mile) from Berlin to Paris journey on one single charge of electricity, and suffered no range anxiety in the process. The feat was achieved thanks to a huge 150 kWh battery pack which took up space in the back of the Berlingo EV, specially modified by German company BEA-Tricks. The same Citroen commercial vehicle was also the 'carriage of choice' for the French adventurer who completed his 4,800 km (3,000 mile) trip round Africa successfully, in a 70.5 kWh Berlingo EV.

Daniel Sperling, one of the drivers, said "We are proud to have once again demonstrated the possibilities of electric mobility. Our car has traveled safely between the two capitals,” and we second that, as we think that this largely-unknown event is actually a historic one and a few years ago, people would have laughed simply by hearing the idea - now it has been achieved and things are looking up for EVs.
