Sad news for both the movie industry and those who love motorcycle movies, as Karen Black lost the battle against cancer and died at the age of 74.
Karen Black made it big in the movie industry back in 1969, with her role as a prostitute in the iconic production Easy Rider, alongside Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper, later starring opposite to Jack Nicholson in the successful Five Easy Pieces production (1970), earning an Oscar nomination.

She later became close to the horror genre and did a great job with her roles in Trilogy of Terror (1975), later starring in movies such as Burnt Offerings (1976), Invaders from Mars (1986) and House of 1,000 Corpses (2003).

Karen Black was diagnosed with cancer three years ago, and spent her last months in a nursing facility with the help of the Motion Picture Television Fund. The illness spread throughout her lower back and affected nerves and her vertebrae. On 8 August, Karen succumbed to her condition, survived by her 4th husband Stephen Eckelberry whom she married in 1987, a son and two daughters.

Rest in peace, Karen Black!
