Ducati Shows Awesome Electric Motorcycle Line-Up... For Kids

Ducatisti now have the perfect excuse to pass on their passion to their offspring, thanks to these four electric motorcycles that can be bought from authorized dealerships. We all know how kids can develop strong passions from a very small age and, seeing how neat these bikes look, we'd say it's well worth a try.

It's funny to see that future Ducati fans are allowed on these bikes from the age of 1. Of course, we're talking about one of the lesser models, powered by dual 25W motors, with a single speed and a 6V/4.5Ah battery. The top speed is 1.6 mph (2.7 km/h) and the Mini Ducati 6V can be yours for a modest price of €79.70 ($91).

Next in line comes the Desmosedici Rider 6V, a bike that can be ridden by kids aged 2 and up. It also comes as a three-wheeler package and has a single gear, with the same battery pack, but it feeds a 50W motor. The top speed is a tad higher, limited at 2.4 mph (3.9 km/h). Priced €141.20 ($161), this bike also sports the classic MotoGP white/red livery and the 04 race number of Andrea Dovizioso.

Taking a step up, the Ducati Hypermotard 12V addresses children who are 3 or older and has only two wheels. However, it comes with removable training wheels, so having your kid learning how to ride it will not be that difficult.

This nifty electric motorcycle has 2WD, with dual 165W motors powered by a 12V/8Ah sealed lead maintenance-free battery that's included in the package.

Unlike the other two bikes that had pedal acceleration, this one comes with a proper twisting throttle and an independent mechanical drum brake. The electric Hypermotard comes with two gears and can reach a top speed of 4.7 mph (7.6 km/h). Your kid can have it if you're willing to spend €337.80 ($384) on it.

The top-of-the-line electric Ducati is the Desmosedici GP 12V, a bike that reproduces Dovizioso's MotoGP bike as faithfully as possible for a toy. Also for kids aged 3 and older, this model comes with the same tech specs as the Hypermotard, from the motors to the battery, USD forks, stand and removable training wheels.

In case you were wondering about the two speeds, they are not for the kids to shift. It is adults who can set the bikes in either mode using a button hidden under the fuel cap. The carbon fiber texture decoration is complemented by decals of the official sponsors, such as Tim, Riello, or Akrapovic. The Desmosedici GP 12V is a €402.3 ($457) affair.

Now that we saw the electric Ducati motorcycles in Dovizioso's livery, we're eagerly waiting to see the ones with #99...
