Ducati Hypermotard 1100Evo/SP Revealed
With a dry weight of 172 kg, the EVO boasts 7kg less weight than the old Hypermotard. According to Ducati, 5kg have been saved thanks to the lighter engine alone. The Desmodue Evoluzione engine, thus the EVO designation, puts out 95 horsepower and 103 Newton meters, 5 hp over the 2009 machine.
The Evo uses the same Desmodromic system, which means the valve closure is activated mechanically, just like the Superbike and Desmosedici MotoGP machines. The exhaust terminates with Ducati’s renown twin under-seat mufflers.
The EVO features spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires, while the SP version is fitted with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires. Colors for the Hypermotard EVO SP includes the Ducati Corse red- or white-based options while both incorporate the red trellis frame and black wheels.
The clutch and alternator covers are finished in carbon grey for the 1100EVO and in gold for the 1100EVO SP. The SP comes equipped with the Ducati Data Analyzer as part of the base package.
Pricing for the Hypermotard 1100EVO will be $11,995 in the US, $14,995CDN in Canada, and $13,995 in Mexico, while the Hypermotard 1100EVO SP will cost $14,495 in the US, $17,495CDN in Canada, and $16,995 in Mexico.
