DTM: Tom Kristensen on Pole at Oschersleben

The car manufacturer from Ingolstadt secured the first 5 positions on the grid, making an important move toward winning their 50th race in the DTM. The battle for the first place on the grid saw three Audi drivers going head to head in the challenging 30 degrees air conditions.
Tom Kristensen will share the first row with fellow Audi driver and last year's champion Timo Scheider, while Martin Tomczyk and Mattias Ekstrom will also be looking for a bullet-like start from the second row.
Despite driving a one-year old Audi A4 DTM, British driver Oliver Jarvis managed to beat the best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver Bruno Spenglerfor fifth place.
This performance marked Audi's seventh pole position in DTM in a row.
"We expected a difficult qualifying, but not this much. Driving with additional weight is always difficult, especially here at Oschersleben. In the race, I will give everything to bring home as many points as possible", said the best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver, Bruno Spengler.
The current leader in the championship, Gary Paffett of Salzgitter AMG Mercedes team, only managed a disappointing 12th place. The race at Oschersleben will run for 48 laps, which translates to 177.408 kilometers.
