When it comes to professional racing, the smallest of details can make a huge difference in performance. For example, between a perfectly dry track and one that’s just ever so slightly damped, differences can go up into the full-second territory. In racing, that’s a lot.
Therefore, when this brave BMW M3 GT4 driver set out on the Nurburgring he made the rather disastrous decision to stay on slicks when the track was basically soaking wet. The result of his endeavor can be seen below.

What’s extremely funny is that he also has a huge sticker on the passenger side, reminding him not to drift in order to get the best possible times around the Green Hell. We’re sure that he wanted to keep the car in check as much as possible but the weather simply wouldn’t let him.

The sequence of drifts that followed weren’t done in the spirit of having fun (even though the whole ordeal does seem pretty entertaining) but rather in the spirit of keeping the car on track at high speeds.

Either way, the driver has our respect for how he handled that big V8 and the RWD on such a track together with the slicks. And especially for how he avoided a crash at the 1:45 mark. Check it out!
