DORA Helmet Prototype Could Spring Up New Safety Concepts

Here's DORA the bicycle helmet prototype from awarded designer Balazs Filczer. Skipping the fact that we're looking at a bike helmet, it's the embedded turn signals which made us think about how cool could such a motorcycle lid be. And adding in the LumiLor technology only makes things awesome.
With Bluetooth, the integration of the helmet luminous elements and the bike is solved: a simple controller can send the appropriate commands to the helmet and with many modern bikes sporting self-canceling turn signals, things are even easier.

While the DORA helmet could use LED lighting, this is highly impractical for a motorbike helmet. Yet having the "lights" painted on the shell and encase din a nifty coat of lacquer solves this problem, too.

A small rechargeable battery will have little to no impact at all weight-wise and adding a small photovoltaic panel in the helmet construction could provide a constant source of power at least for keeping the battery charged at all times.

Arai, Schuberth, Bell, anybody home?
