If you are a bit of a nostalgic and have missed seeing a very purple (we think it's purple, we're not good with colors...) Dodge Challenger on your street, than Chrysler's latest is just what you were waiting for.

The American manufacturer announced today the return of the Plum Crazy color, for a limited production run of the Dodge Challenger. In fact, the Plum will be available on both R/T Classic and SRT8 versions, complete with matching or contrasting Katzkin leather seats.

The new Plum Crazy R/T Classic and SRT8 feature more than just memorable blast-from-the-past design cues and HEMI engines; both models exude the very core of Dodge Challenger’s roots,” Ralph Gilles, Dodge Brand CEO said in a release.

Our new Plum Crazy limited-edition models pay homage to Challenger’s heritage while delivering the passion and excitement Dodge fans and customers demand.

The R/T Classic Plum Crazy edition will offer dual throwback A-line body-side R/T stripes in matte black or new bright white on the body. The car will feature “Challenger” fender badges in classic script, large 20-inch polished-chrome heritage wheels with all-season performance tires, classic egg-crate grille with heritage “R/T” badge, body-color rear spoiler, functional hood scoop and chromed fuel-filler door.

Of course, the Challenger features the 5.7l HEMI V8 engine, developing 376 hp and 410 lb'-ft of torque. Loosely translated the Plum does sixty in 6 seconds...This version has a MSRP of $35,140.

The high-performance SRT8 on the other hand packs the 6.1l HEMI V8, unleashing 425 hp and 420 lb.-ft of torque. It boasts the same modifications as the previous version and comes with exterior-matching SRT performance seats with Plum Crazy accented stripe. SRT8 has an MSRP of $44,155.

The two limited edition Challengers are already available for order, with production scheduled to begin in November at the Brampton Assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario.
