Dodge Challenger Hellcat Drag Races Supercharged E92 BMW M3 in Blown V8 Battle

We're dealing with a bit of a contrast here. On the one hand, the Mopar machine goes up against another coupe with a supercharged V8, but we can't call the race anything but odd, since we're dealing with an E92 BMW M3 Coupe that has been gifted with a blower kit.

We'll start by mentioning the Hellcat is completely stock, so we can move on to discussing the Bavarian beast now. The M3 has been touched by ESS Tuning, with its V8 throwing natural aspiration out the window, in favor of a VT2-625 supercharger kit.

Now, the name of the blower package indicates the output at the crank, but when talking rear-wheel numbers, this Bimmer delivers 570 rwhp. At first, it might seem like the 707-pony Hellcat has the advantage here, but we mustn't forget the weight difference between the two.

Sure, the supercharger package means this M3 has gone past its 3,470 lb weight, but it doesn't even come close to the Challenger Hellcat's 4,449 lbs. Nevertheless, the two duke it out on an empty airfield, so all the drivers have to worry about is extracting the maximum performance out of their machines.

The duo engages in a half-mile battle using a rolling start, with trap speed being the target here. We don't want to ruin the fun by talking about which car won. Even so, we will mention the fact that the MPH difference separating the two vehicles was less than hefty.

As for the soundtrack, we can, once again, say that the two had a fair fight. To be honest, it's difficult to establish who dominated the aural side of the fight.
