After a decade of continuous production of the F-Series, the Blue Oval's Dearborn facility churned out over 2.6 million units of the iconic truck. The plant will undergo a complete makeover this summer as the final step before production of the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 debuts at the end of the year.
The centerpiece of Ford's Rouge Center was opened back in May 2004 and was once the home of the iconic Mustang pony car. Nowadays, the Dearborn facility has over 3,600 employees who manufacture 1,200 units of the F-150 truck on a daily basis.

For the 2015 model year, the F-150 will come with an all-new chassis and body structure made from high-strength, military-grade aluminum and steel alloys. Stronger and lighter than ever before, the new platform will lower the overall weight of the pickup truck by up to 700 pounds, helping the F-150 tow and haul more, while offering improved acceleration times and fuel efficiency.
