Deadmau5 Takes His BAC Mono Out in San Francisco, Calls It a Bad Idea

He waited approximately one year and a half to finally take delivery of his BAC Mono sportscar, it’s no wonder Deadmau5 wants to burn some proper rubber. For some reason, though, it appears the UK-made one-seater needed some further nourish in San Francisco.

Washington D.C. remains at the top of the list for the most congested city, with 82 hours of delay per commuter, according to a recent study. But as we all know, San Francisco is not far from this number. As a matter of fact, the report puts the city in front of New York, with an average 78 hours lost due to traffic jams.

We can’t but agree with Deadmau5’s call: this clearly is not the best place to drive such a vehicle. Let us remind you that we’re dealing with a one-seat sportscar powered by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder Ford Duratec engine. This speed machine can reach the 62 mph mark from a standstill in a reported 2.8 seconds, but in order to do so you need to have enough room.

As a matter of fact, the company itself – Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) – was founded as an exclusive carmaker that produces sportscars targeted precisely at enthusiasts. Each of their customers is called at the factory long before they even start putting the Mono together.

Everything is designed around the precise size of the driver; it’s all personal with this bad boy. Not to mention the carbon fiber composite construction over a steel chassis with an FIA-compliant rollover structure. Yes, the same FIA that is in charge of Formula One competitions.

If you’re a fan of the electronic music DJ, you probably know that Joel Zimmerman is a speed maniac. Nominated to six Grammys, Deadmau5 is one of the most successful artists in the game. Most of his fortune, however, goes to car-shopping, with some of his latest purchases being a McLaren P1 and Lamborghini Huracan.

Taking the BAC mono out for the first time in San Francisco was the best worst idea ever :) so excited to finally see it!!!!
