David Letterman’s late night talk show is probably one of the most popular entertainment program in U.S. so its producers thought they could use that in a new innovative commercial. And viewers can’t really claim it’s masked advertising considering David actually points out to its marketing value.

Before you check out the video (in case you haven’t actually watched the show already), let us talk a little about the rides. The new Ford Mustang is probably the most authentic American muscle car you find on the market, and the new model only takes figures higher. The top model comes with 5.0-liter V8 set and gets 435 horsepower, while the 2.3-liter version will be rated at 310 horsepower. And that is on American soil, because the new model will also be the first to hit the European market, through Ford dealerships, when it goes on sale next year.

As to the Volkswagen, the 2015 GTI model to be more precise, it’s only the ride probably any European would want in their garage as soon as they sell their old car and get a loan. Based on the seventh-generation Golf, it’s packed with a 210 horsepower, turbocharged engine. Among the standard features you’ll get Bi-Xenon headlights with LED DRLs, a Fender Premium Audio System, Panoramic sunroof and touchsreen navigation.

We’re not going to point out which of the two is better, because we like both. We also like David’s idea of making smart ads.
