Apart from Dani Pedrosa’s unexpected win at the Misano Adriatico MotoGP race this weekend, Dainese and AGV surprised the public and racing enthusiasts by releasing their new safety suit and helmet - the Dainese Mugello R D-air and AGV Pista GP R.
Developed alongside MotoGP superstar Valentino Rossi, the new head-to-toe racing equipment represents a further milestone in safety technology by introducing several state-of-the-art technologies and innovations.

“The AGV Pista GP R and the Dainese Mugello R D-air, our new head-to-toe safety system for motorcycle racing, represent yet another milestone in safety technology,”
stated Cristiano Silei, Dainese Group CEO. “The Dainese Group confirms its total commitment to safety, fueled by the knowhow of the Dainese Science and Research Center and supported by continuous research and development efforts with its athletes.”

Starting from the top, the Pista GP R is rated as an ideal combination of protection, performance, and comfort. The lid offers an increased field of view through the introduction of Race 3 Max Pinlock and also comes with a new, patented Visor Lock System (VLS).

Aerodynamics have been upgraded through a new wind-tunnel-researched Biplano rear spoiler which offers increased stability at high speeds. The comfort part has been taken care of too, the new AGV Pista GP R coming with a new internal structure and Integrated Ventilation System (IVS).

Moreover, the Pista GP R is the first lid to come equipped with a hydration system. The helmet includes internal channels and a drinking valve located inside the chin bar.

Moving on, the Dainese Mugello R D-air racing suit is considered a top offer regarding safety, coming with over 25 new features and innovations. For example, the D-air platform has been extended to cover the neck, shoulders, collarbones and lower side of the rib cage.

The Mugello R D-air also comes with a redesigned LED interface and a patented Intelligent Emergency Lighting System triggered by the complex D-air algorithm. Adaptive knee construction and pre-curved textiles/tri-axial elastics make the R D-air much comfortable, while the elbow construction has been reengineered to include an optimized slider shape and quick-release system.

The Dainese Mugello R D-air suit will be available in two color combinations beginning April 2017, while the AGV Pista GP R coming in five graphics and two carbon versions, will come this December.
