Seeing powerful, fast and aggressively-styled motorcycles getting even more aggressive after passing through the workshops of some creative bike customizers and automotive designers will never get old. And that's why we're showing you a new piece of tuning from the Italian designer Paolo Tesio, going by the name of Tex: a 2002 Yamaha YZF-R6.
Paolo wanted to turn this R6 into a track-only beast, so the bike had to undergo both functional and aesthetic transformations. Therefore it received an upside-down fork from a 2000 R1, a WP monoshock and a Matris steering damper. On the performance side, Paolo went for a racing-spec air filter and a custom exhaust made in titanium, which were almost mandatory for a race-ready beast.

As for the visuals, the only thing keeping its shape was the tank, while the 2006 R6 front cowl was remodeled ad mounted on a custom sub-frame. The side panels got a new cut which looks way better than the original ones, and the tail of the R6 was manufactured by hand.

A new rear subframe was again crafted, just like solo seat. First modeled in wood and plaster, then layered in fibeglass and resin, the new R6 clothing also got a custom paint to emphasize the new mean stance of the bike.

Thanks Paolo for all the info he kindly supplied.
