Remember those flashy LEDs you mounted underneath your tuned Supras and Civics in old Need for Speed games? Turns out Japan never actually got bored of them and some people have even managed to take things to new extremes.
While the rest of the world is obsessed with clean lines and elegant design, mister Morohoshi from Japan decided he would like to go the exact opposite way with a Lamborghini supercar that's as flashy as one of Lil Wayne's music videos.
And he's not alone. In fact, Morohishi-san has gathered a whole posse of people with similar tastes in cars. They call themselves the Japan LED Lamborghini Crew and this next video shows what's called a "Tokyo Midnight LED Run". It shows a Saturday night gathering at Tatsumi Parking Area in Tokyo unlike anything on the plaent. Old cars, new cars, V10 and V12, pink, gold, silver and leopard print – pretty much everything goes as long as it's a Lamborghini and it's as bright as the Las Vegas strip.
All sorts of rumors surrounding have surrounded this gathering of supercars, including some of affiliations to the Yakuza (famous Japanese mafia faction). We wouldn't buy into those too much, but one things is for sure: the Lambo guys love nightlife and have very deep pockets.
You can try and understand Japanese car culture all you want, but unless you're truly there and a part of it, the Tokyo Midnight LED Lambo Run will probably remain a hard thing to fathom.
