Cordon Multi-Target Radar System is SF Speed Camera

Speed cameras have been getting better and better, but the advances in technology have been pretty much linear over the years. However, Simicon Co. now promises to deliver a huge leap forward that could allow police to literally keep an eye on every speed on the road... at the same time.
The company has developed a device called “Cordon multi-target Photo Radar System” that comes with a wide-angle view and can offer multiple number plates close-up shots simultaneously.

Are you ready for this drivers? The system can lock onto up to 32 cars and monitor four traffic lanes at the same time. In addition to that, it uses a license plate recognition system that allows it to automatically detect vehicles that travel on bus and taxi lanes.

It has an on-board GPS unit that record the data of each violation, with the data being automatically stored and protected from human input. The system doesn’t need an operator, as it can upload all the violations to a centralized database using wireless or cable connection.
